Weapons Policy- Weapons in public

These photos are real. As cheesy as that sounds, these 3 con goers walking to Anime Expo this year were stopped in their tracks to a police officer telling them to put their hands on their head. One of the con-goers had been caring a gun, for his Cosplay. The police officer saw it and immediately took action as if the gun had been real. After the three had put their hands on their heads they were told the police officer frisked them all thoroughly then had them all sit down on the curb where he then lectured them about terrorism and weapons. By this time a second cop had shown up. After the lecture, the cop confiscated the weapon and sent the con-goers on their way. The lesson here is for anyone cosplaying with weapons:

To avoid this happening to you:

Carry all firearms and weapons in a non-threatening manner, ex. Having the gun over your shoulder and not under your arm.

Make sure your firearms have red or brightly colored tips, this is one of the only ways for a cop to tell that a gun is fake from far away ex. Most toy guns will come with red tips already.

The three were not upset by what happened to them, and just said simply that the cops were doing their jobs.
