Without Leaving Home!

On July 22-August 11, we need host families for girls from Tokyo-aged 15-16-for programs in the Puget Sound areas -especially Auburn/Kent/Renton and Puyallup/Tacoma Areas .  The program is an English education home stay-in which the girls will attend school with certified teachers for all weekdays (9-5) and spend the evenings and weekends with their host families.

Note, there is not a need to provide special entertainment or incur great cost as a host family-as the program has already arranged for site seeing excursions (which host families can choose to attend).

What is required is an open heart and willingness to share your home with one of these girls.

Basic Requirements: You must provide for the meals for your student.  Each girl must have their own bed to sleep in (sharing a bedroom with a same sex child is ok) and each family must be either a parent (or parents) with children or a married couple.  Families will be asked to participate in carpools to get the girls to and from school-so daily driving should not be necessary.  Note that every effort will be made by the program coordinators to assist with any transportation needs.

This is a short term stay but the rewards of hosting can be immeasurable. I have personally been hosting students for summer home stays since 2002-and we have made lasting friendships.  My own children have enjoyed our host students so much they have asked to forgo summer camp in order to host this year.

Please, consider hosting one of these girls yourself, and/or pass on the information to others who may be interested.  Our deadline for securing families is nearly past-we need immediate inquiries as matching students to the right families should not be rushed.  We need to have these girls all matched with families by June 10th.
